In the Untethered Soul, Michael Singer brings our attention to our inner roommate (the voice inside your head) that constantly talks to us. Do you see this voice objectively or do you take it personally? When we can see this voice objectively, it has less power over us and we realize that most of what it says is meaningless. When our inner voice meets the outer world, it can find problems. We must shift our perspective form the question of “What should I do about this problem?” to “What part of me is being disturbed by this problem?” to be more objective. By shifting the question, we can determine why we think that there is a problem.
Can you ask yourself “Who am I?” with sincerity and objectivity? This will help you see that you are not the objects you see or the labels that your inner roommate puts on you. You are the one who sees the objects. You are the experiencer of what happens and are aware of the quality of that experience through your awareness, consciousness, and an intuitive send of existence. To have more fulfilling life experiences, we have to be open and let our energy flow. It takes a commitment to keep yourself open through your choices as they present themselves to you.
